Looking forward

November 29, 2009

Today didn’t felt like a Sunday to me. Perhaps it’s because of the public holiday which was on last Friday. In church today I helped out in the children church Christmas play production. I was asked to photograph the event and also their practices, which was today. Looking at all those young little kids, it made me realised that life pass by like a blink of an eye.

I still remember those days of mine in children church. I would run around church chasing my friends, teasing girls, making lots of noises and throw wet toilet papers unto ceilings! Now I’m all grown up. I don’t think I can do all those stuffs I did back then today. I’m too old for this sorta stuffs…haha.

In the evening I had a pre-wedding photoshoot for Sern Yi and my sister, Michelle. The sun was really beautiful today. The skies were alright although I look like it was gonna rain later on. A rainbow can be seen from afar. Everything was in place except one thing..the location.

Dad wanted us to try Pulau Indah. Well lets just say, it’s a beautiful place but not a place to have your pre-wedding shots taken! Since everyone was there already, the photoshoot was carried on. Photos turn out pretty alright. Didn’t had the mood to photograph due to the location. So..it has been decided that the photoshoot shall resume this coming weekend somewhere else! Can’t wait for it!

I’ll share the pictures with you guys once I’m done with their pre-wedding. But for now..here’s a teaser =)

Lesson Learnt

November 29, 2009

This is one of the most fun photoshoot I had so far.

Just today I had an outdoor garden wedding to photograph. We were all geared up for the event…but..I don’t have a flash trigger! I lend my trigger to a friend and somehow it went missing. I wanted to get a replacement at the very last minute because I thought the lost trigger could be found, when I could just get a replacement much earlier. I called up the supplier and he said “Sorry boss..no stock!”

I was really disappointed with myself for not ordering a replacement earlier. Hence, I had no choise but to rely on Nikon’s Creative Lighting System (a sort off in-built flash trigger..too complicated to explain here). We had to test out the CLS system because sometimes the flash doesn’t fire.

First test shot fail. Can see Zhi Fung clearly at the background. The thing with CLS, the flash infra-red detects signal from the camera’s pop-up flash. Too far, and it won’t fire. Too near..and this is what you get..get to see ZF clearly.

To solve the problem, we tied it to the archway…something that shouldn’t be done in the future.

Anyway, I had a good time today. Lesson learnt!

I love my job

November 26, 2009

So last night I was in a German-Malay wedding to photograph the ceremony. While the bride and groom were in the car getting ready to leave to the mosque, their neighbour came out to congratulate them.

I thought I saw a moment that I really like, so I decided to snap that moment. The aunty(neighbour) realised I was snapping her picture and she got a shock! She said “Wahh got photographer snapping my picture”.

See her happy priceless expression. That made my day =)

Around 10.40am this morning, I’ve officially finish my studies in the School of Architecture Building Design, Taylors College. No words could explain the joy that was in me when I finished my Project Management paper!

So I got home in the evening and got pretty bored. I decided to play around with photoshop to improve on my post processing. It was really fun trying out new stuffs on photoshop. Here are pictures that I’ve came up with.
