Fear Not

January 30, 2010

I was doing my devotion last night and I came upon this scripture which I once read before,

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. – Deuteronomy 31:8

Things aren’t easy at times. Sometimes we feel that time is short and there’s so much left to do. We often think to ourselves “What if we fail?” or “What if I don’t live up to people’s expectations?”.

But like the scripture says, there’s nothing to worry about when God’s on your side. His mercies are new each day, each morning when we open our eyes.

And because He’s with us all the time, He’ll help us to pull through to the top; we will succeed!

A new skin, a new look!

January 29, 2010

Hey!

If you guys realised, I’ve changed my website skin to something more ‘professional’. It isn’t exactly completed yet. There’s a few more things that I need to do, probably I’ll need to hire a web designer for it.

I had the whole day today to change my website skin. I am having a bad cough and flu, hence comes the fever. I slept almost the whole day today, off and on I would wake up and design the new webpage. Maybe I’ll see a doctor later if my mum comes back home early today.

Oh look..a new water mark too!

It’s all about timing

January 27, 2010

I remembered posting this in my old photoblog

To realize the value of ONE YEAR,

Ask a student who has failed his exam.

To realize the value of ONE MONTH,

Ask a mother who has given birth to a pre-mature baby.

To realize the value of ONE WEEK,

Ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize the value of ONE DAY,

Ask a daily wage labourer who has 10 kids to feed.

To realize the value of ONE HOUR,

Ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.

To realize the value of ONE MINUTE,

Ask a person who has missed the train.

To realize the value of ONE SECOND,

Ask a person who has survived an accident.

To realize the value of ONE MILLI SECOND,

Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.

I do believe and always believe that everything that happens, happens within God’s timing. For someone so powerful like Him, He’s always looking at the bigger picture of things rather than the smaller pieces, like how we humans normally do.

Someone once said to me this,

The right thing at the wrong time = Wrong thing

The wrong thing at the right time = Wrong thing

The right thing at the right time = Right thing

It did make sense when I could see how recent things related to my past. A few things are going on in my life right now. Whether it’s the right or wrong thing, it depends on how I deal with it. It isn’t easy when things are new for you..especially when it is your first time dealing with this sorta things (yess…too many usage of the word ‘things’).

The funny part is when all these things comes all together at a critical moment. How do we deal with it? Which is more important? Is there a way to work things out? The ideal outcome is of course based on what you want and what is your priorities and how these two can be incorporated together.

Sometimes when things appear in God’s timing and we don’t know how to deal with it, we lose out on what could have been, what should have been. So yeahh..lets see how things goes..and with God’s help, I’ll do my best =)

More pictures coming your way soon. As for now..I’m hungry!

I was asked to photograph various departments in my church for their 40th Anniversary Magazine. So last Saturday I planned a shoot for the worship department as well as the Royal Rangers.

It wasn’t easy, seriously. It took me weeks of planning and coming out with ideas. After I had the idea, I needed to find people to be in the shoot and people to help me out and not forgetting, making arrangements with the church to use their front carpark.

Shooting the picture is one thing. The other thing is the set-up! The set-up began as early as 5pm and lasted till 9pm when I finally shot my first picture. It’s true that a good shot takes 90% spent on the set-up and 10% spent on the camera.

Shooting this set-up piece was really something new to me. I’ve never done this sorta thing before in my whole entire life. There are so many things involved – lights, people, props, dresscode, lots more! Controling the lightings was the toughest. I had so many diff light sources and each of them gives out different colour. I had to make sure my white balance is just nice for a warm skin tone. Shooting in RAW do help sometimes if you screw up the white balance =)

Enjoy the next few series of pictures!
