Beauty of Sydney

July 13, 2010

 Hello (:

First of all, a big apologies to those who had email me to inquire about my packages for the late replies. I’ll work on those emails right away after this blog post. I was away in Sydney for holidays and I didn’t have my laptop with me. The only interaction I had with the online world was my phone!

My holidays have been great indeed! I honestly wish that I could post up all my photos in this blog and show it to you guys but I guess the only best option I have is to post it on my facebook page. When I first had a glimpse of the cityscape, I immediately fell in love with Sydney! Comparing Sydney against Melbourne, Sydney is a much older city. Unlike Melbourne, Sydney isn’t plan out in a grid system. The cityscape has lots of uphills and downhills and traffic congestion is probably similar to the traffic congestion in Kuala Lumpur. It took us an hour plus to get back home from Circular Quay to King Cross at 12am midnight! But of course I didn’t fell in love with Sydney for its traffic woes, I fell in love with the beauty of the streets, the buildings and the idea of the city being right beside the river.

What I don’t like about Sydney is that there are no trams for you to move about! Well there’re trams in China Town area but that’s the only known tram services to me. Aside from that, the people are kinda rude in the city. The bus driver was kinda rude to me when I entered the bus without validating my ticket. Coming from Melbourne where a ticket needs to be validated once, I thought it’s the same too in Sydney.

Anyway, enjoy these few series of pictures. Will post more in my next update!

Winter blues

June 26, 2010

Didn’t know the winter weather could be quite depressing

Hello there (:

Sorry for being a way so long. I had been busy studying or least trying to study in the last two weeks. I made it out alive my first semester in university. I’m in my second day of holidays and I’m already so worn out by my holiday schedules.

I understand completely why girls call shopping as a form of exercise. Bags of clothes on your left and right hand, walking here and there, up and down..that’s equilavent of doing 3 sets of shoulder press, 3 sets of bicep curls and 30 minutes of cardio on the treadmill.

Anyway, I’m gonna promise you guys and girls beautiful pictures during my holidays. I’m so excited to have random photoshoots in Melbourne. My 110cm reflector arrived the other day and I can’t wait to use it! I’ve been dying to do some portraits in winter. Any willing model? =)

Shrine of Remembrance

June 8, 2010

Today I had quite an interesting day. Me and a bunch of frens decided to go down pass Flinders Street, to the Memorial Park. We visited the Shrine of Remembrance. It’s like the Malaysian version of Tugu Negara. Well, I’ve never actually been to Tugu Negara before but I’m guessing this place is way better than that.

The sight of the shrine from afar is simply admirable. It looks like it has the ancient Greek architecture, more like the Pantheon. The row of columns at the front is indeed a statement of the building. Walking up towards the shrine, I realised the shrine looks pretty small. However, once I was inside, I was really amazed of how big the place actually is. The size of the shrine from outside could simply fool my eyes due to the proportions of certain elements (okayy..enough of architecture talk).

It was half gloomy, half shinny in Melbourne today. Just enjoy the series of pictures below!

The interior part of the shrine. Love how the natural light comes through the skylight into the center space.

The entrance to the visitors centre.

I don’t have much pictures of myself in Melbourne taken with my own camera and I rarely post any of them here. Here’s something I don’t do quite often.

Goshhhh I miss home!
