I’m so excited for this year! Lots of things are coming up, lots of photoshoots are coming up. All I can say is that I’m so glad to be back home in Malaysia!

To start my 2011 on this blog, here are the last bits of my Australia journey in 2010. Photos were all captured using my Nikon FE2 film camera with Fujifilm Superia film. Enjoy! (:

First up, I’m done with university! What an incredible journey this has been for me. I won’t comment much about it now. I’ll write another blog post about it some other time.

I’m really very, very free right now. I’m actually planning up the places to visit in Melbourne before I return back home. So many places, yet so little time! The season right now makes it perfect to go sight seeing, really. It’s almost summer and the weather is getting much ‘happier’, in a sense that it doesn’t rain as much as before. The temperature is slightly warm but heyy..it’s the perfect temperature to wander around! Aside from sight seeing, I reckon I’ll pack my luggage with new shirts, new shoes, new jeans, and new shorts!

Anticipation fills up my heart as my Australia journey is coming to an end. Can’t wait to see my family, friends and getting back into the wedding scene!

“Not everyday is a good day, but there’s something good in everyday!”

I’m really enjoying myself right now. I’ve been going out a lot lately especially with my camera. The world seems far lovelier from the eyes of my camera. As photographers, we composed pictures that come within our emotions. We see things based on how we feel. The beauty of viewing the world from pictures is that selected emotions are inserted into the pictures, sometimes separating the negative side of things.

A picture do speaks of a thousand words, but are those words being told truthfully? What we don’t see sometimes in a picture is the process or the story behind it. Do we see the loneliness behind one’s smile? Do we see the grief behind one’s face? Often we hide our emotions in front of the camera just for the sake of having a ‘sweet’ memory of things.

I don’t really know where I’m going with this post but it was just a random thought I did today. However, if there’s a point to all of these, I guess I would say that, yes, life never ever goes as planned. We could pretend everything is alright, but it isn’t! Things that we’ve planned out are often backfired either by ourselves or by people. Each of us are faced with different issues which are no greater than what others are facing. No one have the right to compare their own issues with what others are going through.

But in the midst of it all, we should have the ability to take a step back from our situation and look at it in a whole bigger perspective. I reckon that when we’ve developed this ability to snapped out from focusing too much on our issues and take a step back to look at the bigger picture of things, then that is when we’ll find something to smile about and look at those problems as something to overcome. In shorter words, don’t focus too much on the problem; focus on how you could deal with them!

As I’ve written before..

Nobody trips over mountains.  It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble.  Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.

Many has said this phrase something similar to this, including myself, “When there are no expectations, there are no disappointments.” To a certain point, it is true…till this revelation came upon me. Who do we place our expectations on? The fact is, we can never live up to one’s expectations. Human fails. Now here comes the comforting truth; God never fails. If there is an expectation you have inside of you, let it be on God.

I can’t wait to get back to Malaysia! Two more months people…two more months! I can’t believe I actually wrote down a list of food to it when I’m back (:

There are so many ‘what if’ and ‘maybe’ which I can never answer all of them. I’m leaving everything into God’s hand and I’m praying that He’ll lead me and open up doors for me. Till now, I have not heard a single thing from Him but I guess in His timing, His plans for my life will be revealed, step by step. All I know is that, God is never late nor early; He’s always on time (:

Putting things aside, I recently found myself an old film camera, a nikon FE2. Shooting in film is really fun! You have no clue at all on what you are shooting. Unlike digital cameras, you don’t get to preview the picture you have taken with a film camera. You just have to go by feeling and really, put more thoughts into your composition. I’ve just develope my first roll of film. I’m still in a ‘try try’ stage..so pictures aren’t exactly that fantastic. Everything was shot with Fujifilm Superia 200 film..and..no editing at all!! You gotta love the colour tone from film!
