When I got a message from a college friend to take up a pre-wedding job in Melbourne for her sister last year, I got really excited! I’ve never taken an outstation job before and it was really a privilege for me to do so!

Probably some of you guys wonder what do I do as an architecture student. Well, it’s simple. One of the things I do is making models. Not just any model, I create models that has spatial quality and study them. Certain qualities from the models can be picked up and be used to create the spatial qualities that we want in our buildings.
Here’s one of the many models that I made in class the other day
Instability, insecured and unsafe. A feeling that one feels in the space. Massive planes cantilevered over an irregular space, a journey that one knows it’s safe yet feeling unsure.
It always feels good on a Wednesday. My weekend starts on Wednesdays. No classes on Thursdays and only an hour of lecture on Friday noon. Life is good =)
So I guess this is it. I’m flying off today to Melbourne. It’s gonna be almost a year long before I set foot back in Malaysia.
At the moment, I’m kinda nervous yet at the same time excited for the things that may come my way. I really don’t know what to expect while I’m in Melbourne. People over there are different. The culture is different. The food is different. The lifestyle is different. Weather is different. Internet is faster.
But one thing I know for sure, my God is still the same over in Melbourne. I know He’ll take good, good care of me =)
Maybe our road will cross again in the future!
